Went back to Lakeside yesterday with CS Karting and AB Karting. I wasn’t intending to go back because of their silly no camera rule, but as my holiday from work is nearly over for another year thought I’d give it another visit. I managed 2nd place and 3rd place with a 45.5 on a damp track. I would have got 3rd position twice but Abs decided to spend most of the second session facing the wrong way which allowed me to grab 2nd. Today was my first go at Teamsport Harlow, where the BIKC regionals are being held for my area. There’s a slight chance I might make it through the locals at Dunstable, so thought I’d better try the track out. I didn’t do very well. I’m reasonably sure they gave me a kart that was older than I am because the guy in the green helmet was in front of me when the lights went green, and although he hit the accelerator a split second before I did, he was 3 miles ahead of me by the next corner. Either my kart was nobbled, or my excessive jaffa cake scoffing is weighing me down…but I need to keep munching to try and stay in the heavyweight category for BIKC. Having a day off tomorrow, then back to Dunstable on Thursday, then Harlow again on Friday, then it’s back to work 🙁
