Having somehow qualified for the regionals by coming 4th in the locals at Dunstable, I now have to learn to drive the Harlow track in the next 2 weeks. I’ve done my usual trick of starting with a reasonable time, then gradually getting a bit slower each visit. Today was a Sunday morning full of bumps and bashes, and I’m pretty sure my karts engine was powered by elastic bands, and the tyres were crafted from vaseline. I got what I felt like was a couple of good laps in, but the times said otherwise. On the first session I was only 2 tenths behind CS Karting who also had a kart bought from Temu, but to ensure that I wasn’t close to her time on the 2nd session she put me in the barrier and I had to get rescued by the marshal (when he woke up). Back at Harlow again tomorrow for some much needed practice.
