Only me on the track this morning, and it didn’t start well. Having watched the under 16’s just complete their Race Academy session where everybody was getting 37’s, I was determined to push it and finally get in to the 38’s. Turns out I was pushing it a bit too much as I spun out on the second lap and had to get rescued 🙁 Once the tyres had warmed up things got better, and after a knackering first 30 minute session, I’d found my groove and managed to stay in the 39’s for most of the laps in the second 15 minute session. Got a PB of 39.073….SO CLOSE! Looking back on the recording, I’m still losing time on the second corner which leads into the longest flat out section on the track, and am still struggling with that bloody hairpin by the up ramp. Going to review CS Kartings recordings of that second corner. I’m sliding out and coming out of the corner far too slowly. Might need to take a week off, it seems the Dunstable track is worst for hurty ribs. Watford and High Wycombe don’t seem to give me the same issues.
