32°C outside, and approximately 200°C on the track today. No way was I wearing the body armour because I would have been a puddle of sweat, but I came away relatively unscathed. There were only 5 others in my session today so I managed to get a couple of clear laps, which was nice. Got a new PB, but only by .02 of a second which was a little disappointing. Whatever I’m doing is not working to get me under the 40 second barrier. Had a lot of fun in the first session, trying and failing to chase down number 10. In the second session I was second out on the track, and purposely left a massive gap in front of me before the lights went green which gave me a good few laps with nobody in the way. I was convinced I’d beaten 40 seconds because it felt much faster…but alas, I’m still a slow old man. Never mind..I’m there again in a couple of days so will analyse the recordings to see where I’m losing time (though I’m almost certain it’s still on those stupid ramps) in the mean time, and hopefully will get a new PB on Thursday which will hopefully be a bit cooler.
