First visit to this new track, and my first go in an e-Kart. 15 drivers meant there was a lot of traffic, and more than a few bumps. The marshals seemed to turn a blind eye to to some rather dodgy driving from a couple of them, and I got spun out and squeezed against the tyre walls more than once, it was still a lot of fun though. The track doesn’t have much grip, and it’s very easy to slide the back end out (without meaning to!), but once I got the hang of it I did reasonably well, coming in 7th, 6th and 9th. The girls were predictably much quicker, and I lost count of the number of times CS Karting passed me. One thing I didn’t like was the remote control they have over your kart…suddenly your motor loses all power and goes in to some kind of limp mode for no apparent reason. It’s a bit unnerving when you are accelerating hard and then you just lose power. It’s a shame Wycombe is so far away, an hours drive means it’s not somewhere I’ll be going too often, but I definitely want to go there again.
