After making it through the locals in BIKC and then getting annihilated at the regionals, I decided to give outdoor karting another go with a Sodi 40 minute race at MK today. The weather was pretty good, but one corner in particular was super slippy and and had me going sideways every single time. Still, I somehow managed to end up in 5th place out of 23 which isn’t too shabby. CS Karting got black flagged for speeding on a yellow, and was then stuck in the pits waiting for her telling off behind three other karts that had been black flagged which pretty much ruined her race. I managed to leave the lens caps on my camera so there’s a lot of reflections, and somehow I’ve knackered the sound too. I have a session tomorrow at Dunstable so I’ll get to see if it’s permanently busted. I didn’t think I’d last 40 minutes given that I had to bail out of a 30 minute race at Dunstable last week due to old man foot cramp but outdoor karting seems to be less intense physically, and a lot more fun. It’s also a lot more expensive so I won’t be doing it too often, although I do have lakeside and Rye House coming up. Happy days 🙂
